This is a freebie that I want to share with all women. It’s a little insight into the male species on how we bond. We “thumb blast” together.

Usually on Tuesday, a bunch of the guys on staff head over to Firehouse Subs for lunch. Firehouse is known for it’s variety of hot sauces and they’re ranked from 3 or 4 and go up to 10+++. The 10+++ even has a disclaimer about not using too much or you could get seriously injured.

You already know what’s coming, it’s what guys do. We challenge each other to take a “thumb blast” of the 10+++ sauce. A “thumb blast” means we take the cap off, press our thumb against the top of the bottle, turn it upside down and when we take our thumb away, there is a small circle of ridiculously hot hot sauce waiting. We take the hot sauce, wipe it on our tongue and can’t drink any water for 15-30 seconds.

Stupid, I know, but it gives us a chance to laugh at each other’s pain. And that, ladies, is how guys bond.
