Is it bad that I like that Fergie song? I don’t think so, but I would bet everything I own that I’d be criticized in Christian circles in a second if word got out.
I’m okay getting criticized for legitimate mistakes and bad decisions, that’s life. Here’s what I have a hard time with. I’m not okay getting criticized because someone thinks that somehow listening to a Fergie song means I love and condone girls wearing little clothes and I think being self-centered is a worthwhile aspiration. Of course, I understand the concept of living a life above reproach, but that doesn’t mean alienating myself from everything. And yes, I also understand the difference between imperfect people and people who are intentional about their questionable actions.
If associating with imperfect people was a bad thing, I guess I’ve got it all wrong. If associating with people who have issues lumps me into some kind of “Scarlet Letter” category, well, I guess we shouldn’t hang out together anymore.

I have been to talk with you about some of the things you have been listening to, and how it affecting your ministry. You should really be ashamed of yourself. Absolutly ashamed.
